We have been enjoying this place for a few years now. Best sushi in the area. Charlie and his team do a great job. Great vibe. Attentive and friendly service. Excellent attention to detail. Shiso! Omakase never dissappoints. Great soups and homemade desserts. Can get busy. Go early and BYOB!
Amazing food, Amazing Service, Amazing Staff, just fantastic Sushi and Miso Soup. Strongly recommend it for weekday hangout in the evening with friends and family. Had a good time with friends that I had not met for 10 years. The place was not that busy and the Service team was just so polite and nice.
This was a lovely restaurant. Very calm and soothing decor , delicious food, super attentive service. I particularly loved the Hot and Sour soup. Highly recommend.
Our favorite spot for sushi! We love the sushi boat for two and the sushi and sashimi boat for two is excellent too! Our daughter loves the bento box with teriyaki chicken. Everything is so tasty and the staff is super friendly! Highly recommend!!
I have been going to Sumo for ever since I moved to Pennington 20 years ago and have never been disappointed. Their Volcano and Yummy special rolls of some of my favorites. I highly recommend this place.

The best sushi in the area! It's a longer drive for us, and well worth the trip! Love the sushi pizza as an app. The rolls are always great! Love that they are always bringing new items to the menu.
I found this place when I was just taking the road less traveled. I saw the awning an added it to my list of places to check out. I am so glad I did !! I was disappointed that they did not cook the hibachi in front of you, that part closed due to covid. But they sure made u feel at home!

Who would have thought such wonderful sushi would exist way out in suburban Jersey, but it does and it's delish! After having just a bit of trouble finding the front door, we must have parked in the wrong area, we were greeted and seated very quickly. It certainly helped that it was a weeknight and the place was empty. However, from then on, the service left a bit to be desired. After ordering, it seemed to take an inordinately long time for our food to arrive. Now, it is sushi, but like I said we were the only people in the restaurant. Nonetheless, once our food was served we were content - it's not like it was sitting out getting cold haha. There was one small snafu with my order though. I partially blame myself for assumedly causing confusion when ordering: I ordered a Rainbow Roll and then changed my mind and said "I'll have the Dragon Roll instead." Well, the "instead" wasn't heard or understood because I received both. I was not upset as there is no such thing as "too much sushi", but at the same time I was trying to maintain a corporate meal cap. Again, I take partial blame but I also wish the waitress had read our order back to us. Lessons learned. The sushi itself was well made and tasted fresh. The wasabi was nasal-clearingly on point and the Miso Soup was served piping hot. What more could you want?! Oh, prices: you know, it's sushi! Being way out in New Jersey doesn't (really) reduce the premium this cuisine commands. Sumo Sushi is the spot to have a sushi meal if you are in the area. Heed my small warnings and enjoy! You'll leave stuffed and content, just as we did.
